Standing by the door of your hotel room with your hands on your hips, you once again tried to get Canada to speed up. He really wasn't going slowly, but you excitement made it seem like he was taking an eternity. “Hurry up Canada. You're taking forever and a day to get ready. If you're not out pretty soon, I'm going to leave without you.”

Scrambling about the room, gathering his towels, a change of clothes and anything else he might need for the beach, he nodded. “I'm going as fast as I can. I didn't think you'd want to get to the beach as soon as the sun came. I'm still half asleep.” Canada dropped his voice to just above a whisper and let out a sleepy sigh. “Sheesh, you're really impatient today.”

“I heard that you know.” Grabbing on to his arm, you pulled him towards the door and outside. “Now come on already. I'm sure you have everything by now.” The beach was literally right outside your hotel room, so there was no car ride or long walk to get there. Warm temperatures and bright sunshine were both pleasant changes from the cold, snowy days you were used to. This was only one of the many reasons the two of you had decided to come here for your honeymoon.

“There aren't many people out here today, I wonder if something's wrong.” Stepping back slightly, Canada attempted to turn back towards your room. “Maybe I should go check with the hotel staff, just to make sure everything's alright.”

“Oh, no you don't. I've waited long enough.” Not about to let him get away that easily, you tightened your hold on him and continued tugging him farther away from his comfortable bed. “I'm sure everything's just fine. It's probably just too early for a lot of people.”

“Maybe.” Canada yawned as the two of you stepped onto the warm, shifting sand. “It's still too early for me, so you're probably right. I still think we should go back to bed and come out here a little later, like after we've had breakfast.”

“I'm sure you'll wake up once you get in the water. And I brought us something to eat if we get hungry, so you don't need worry about that.” As you walked across the shoreline, a small, wooden sign caught your attention. On this sign, in large, etched out letters, were the words; “Swim with sharks”. You weren't sure why, but you found yourself wanting desperately to do just that. “Hey Canada, we should try that.”

“Try what?” Canada looked down at the sign and stumbled backwards. He slowly lifted his eyes to meet yours with a look of sheer terror on his face. “Y-you're just joking with me, right? You can't actually be serious about this, can you?”

“Of course I'm serious. I wouldn't bring it up if I wasn't.” You chuckled, despite the fact that he seemed completely against doing this. “I think this will be a lot of fun. Besides, when are we ever going to have a chance to do something like this again?” With a wide, eager grin on your face, you turned to face him, took both of his hands in yours and kissed his cold, pale cheek. “Really, what's the worse thing that could happen?”

Trembling just from the thought, Canada swallowed hard and did his best not to stumble over his own words. “W-well, we could be eaten by alive sharks, but if that doesn't bother you, then I guess I've got nothing.”

“We're not going to get eaten, I promise. I've seen this sort of thing on TV before.” Your mind was already made up, but unless you could get him to see things your way, it really didn't matter. Hoping to persuade him, you wrapped your arms tightly around his waist and started to plead with him. “Please Matthew?”

He still wasn't convinced that this was a good idea, but he didn't want to ruin your time simply because he was scared. So against his better judgment, Canada agreed to go along with your idea. “O-okay, if you really want to, then I guess we can give it a try. But if I change my mind, you're going to have to go on without me.”

“That's fair enough.” Pulling your cellphone from your bag, you quickly dialed the number on the sign and spoke to the person running the tours. About a minute later, you hung up with a wide smile on your face. “He'll be here soon, so you'd better be ready.”

Canada brought you back in his arms and buried his face in your shoulder. “Y-yeah, I'll try to be. I'm not making you any promises, but I will try.”

A few minutes later, your guide arrived. Since there were no sharks anywhere near the coast, you and Canada had to take a boat ride almost a mile out to sea. Once there, both of you were suited up and had the rules explained to you. Once Canada found out that you would be protected by a cage, he settled down significantly. Even then, he was still shaking in his scuba suit. “Are you one hundred percent positive that you want to do this? I won't be upset if you've changed your mind. We can just head back and swim with the normal sized fish that can't kill us.”

“I haven’t changed my mind and I'm pretty sure I'm not going to change it either.” Just as sure as ever, you stepped into the large, cell like cage and readied yourself to go underwater. “If you can't do it, just wait in the boat for me.”

“N-no, I'm coming with you. If I don't, that will just be one more thing for America to tease me about.” Clenching his fists at his side, Canada took a deep breath and joined you in the cage. As soon as he was inside and ready, the cage began to drop under the water. “I really, really don't want to die on my honeymoon.” With that, both of you became completely submerged.

At first, neither of you saw any fish larger than a goldfish. Canada didn't seem to mind this, but you were yearning for the sharks. After about five minutes under the water, all of the small, colorful fish began to scatter, quickly disappearing from sight. You'd seen this before, so you knew exactly what was about to happen. Another minute or so passed with no sign of sharks. Then, without warning, you felt Canada latch himself on to you. Sure he must have spotted a shark, you slowly began to turn around, your heart pounding in your chest. There, with its nose pressed to the metal bars, was an enormous shark. Seeing something so large, and so deadly this close was amazing and terrifying at the same time.  Less than a minute later, your cage was surrounded by them. While it was a beautifully astonishing sight, and you knew you'd never, ever forget it, you were actually becoming a bit scared. What if they tried to attack,? What if one of the bars gave way? What if the chain holding the cage up snapped and the two of you started to sink? As these thoughts rushed through your mind, your fear grew. Just when you didn't think you could take anymore of the circling, glaring sharks, you started rising out of the water.

As soon as your heads were above the water, Canada pulled off his mask and hugged you. “That was so cool. I'm really glad you suggested it. Once we were down there, it really wasn't that scary at all. E-except for that first shark of course. ”

“Y-yeah, it was pretty awesome.” With your heart still beating like a drum, you dropped your head to his chest and tried to slow down your breathing. “I'm not sure I'll ever do anything like that again though. Just the excitement might be enough to kill me.”

Surprised and a bit worried at your sudden lack of confidence, Canada took your face in his hands and gently kissed your nose. “Are you alright? You're shaking a bit.”

“I'll be okay. But I think I've had enough adventure for today.” Blushing quite a bit more than you realized, you stepped out of the cage and back onto the swaying boat. Once out of your gear, you dropped down to your seat and snuggled Canada close. “Don't laugh, but I don't really think I want to get back into the water today after that.”

Canada was obviously amused by your drastic change in attitude, but he managed to keep himself from letting so much as a giggle escape his throat. “I'm not going to laugh at you. I understand.” Lacing his fingers with yours, he rubbed his nose just behind your ear and kissed your neck. “I'm sure we can find something else to do.”

“I've already got that covered.” You smiled, his kisses causing you to blush even worse than you already were. “What do you say we spend the rest of the day watching TV and soaking in the hot tub together? We can call room service and have then bring up food, that way we won't have to move unless we absolutely have to.”

More than happy to do anything at all that involved spending time with you, and only you, Canada nodded. “That sounds like a good idea to me.”
