“I think we should take a break from this, at least for a while. We aren't getting anywhere, and it's just getting frustrating.” Flopping down into a very uncomfortable wooden chair, you let out a long, loud sigh.

Sasori stood in front of you, deep in thought. “I think, we should stop trying all together. I've used up every last resource and still, there hasn't been the slightest change. Our efforts are becoming nothing more than a terrible waste of time.”

“Hey, don't say that. There's plenty of stuff we can still try.” Hopping right back out of the chair, you threw your arms around his shoulders and squeezed him tight. You knew he couldn't feel what you were doing, but you hoped he'd at least understand the sentiment. “Maybe we should lay off of the scientific stuff for a while. It's possible that we just need to rewire your brain or something.”

The small bit of emotion Sasori had learned to feel was showing in the form of an annoyed stare. “And how exactly do you propose we do that? As I already stated, I've tried everything imaginable.”

“No, we've tried everything scientifically possible. Which is why I said we should lay off of the science.” It was more than a little bit obvious that Sasori was confused. “I know you won't be able to feel, physically unless we use science, but emotionally, we should be able to fix without it. So, let's just focus on the emotional aspect of things for a while.”

Sasori pressed his fingers in the space between his brows, rubbing up and down in a frustrated fashion.“You still haven't answered me. Do you have any ideas on how to do that or are you just talking to hear yourself speak?”

You purposely hadn't told him your plan, if you had, there was no way it would ever work. Feeling now was as good a time as ever, you started your experiment. “You know Sasori, you're really mean to me. Here I am, doing my best to help you, and all you can do is insult me. Maybe I should just leave, it's apparent that you can't stand me.” Doing your best to be as theatrical and over dramatic as humanly possible, you turned away from him and held your hands in your face. Though you couldn't get the tears to flow, you were able to fake the sound of crying almost perfectly.

“What are you doing?” You didn't answer Sasori. Even though it didn't seem like your act was working, you weren't ready to give up. “You can't be crying, it just doesn't make sense. But then again, females are rarely logical and quite often act and think foolishly.”

He still didn't seem convinced, it was time to up your acting. Raising your voice to the point of almost yelling, you quickly stomped away from him and into a small man made hallway inside the cave. “You're still insulting me!”

It took a couple of moments, but Sasori finally followed you. He placed his hand on your back and spoke quietly. “My intention wasn't to insult you. I was simply stating fact.” Sasori gently rubbed your back in an apologetic, comforting way. “You have been a help to me, and I don't want you to leave simply because of something I said. However, if you want to leave, I won't stop you.”

Though you couldn't be sure, he seemed genuinely sorry for upsetting you. Of course, he could just be faking this emotion. Since you couldn't be completely sure, you decided to continue your act just a little bit longer. “It's okay, I'm probably just moody.” You quickly turned around and brought him into your arms for a tight hug.

Sasori accepted your hug, albeit somewhat awkwardly. “You do honestly seem a little off today. You're not usually so emotional. Usually you're sarcastic and witty.” The awkward atmosphere intensified as you refused to let him out of your arms. “Did something happen?”

“No, I was just testing you. I'm perfectly fine.” You grinned. “Just as I expected, you can feel emotions quite easily now. At least a few of them anyway. I thought we had made progress.”

“You tricked me?” Sasori didn't know whether to be upset or impressed.

“I did, but it was necessary. I couldn't very well ask you to feel emotions, they wouldn't have been real. I had to do something to make you feel them naturally.” Your smile turned sheepish. “I am sorry I tricked you though.”

Sasori shook his head, understanding why you did what you did perfectly. “Though your methods are odd, they do seem effective. Unfortunately, I highly doubt they'll work a second time.” If Sasori had the ability to blush, his face would have been bright red. He was no longer able to stand still, or look you directly in the eyes. This fact further confirmed your suspicion that he was indeed regaining his ability to feel.

“Well now, we actually got quite a lot accomplished today. We should do something enjoyable. You want to watch TV or something?” It was hard knowing what someone like Sasori might want to do. He didn't eat, sleep or really seem interested in much of anything.

“I suppose.” Afraid he was falling right back into his old apathetic mood, you grabbed his hand and pulled him to a small room with nothing more than an old couch, a TV, and a few VHS tapes. “You probably don't care what we watch, do you?”

“No, Deidara made this room for when he's hiding from Tobi. I've only been in here a few times, seeing as I don't really watch TV.” He escaped your grasp and sat on the couch patiently. You couldn't help but notice the strange, almost sad look in his eyes as he watched you push a tape into the player.

You sat beside him and took both of his hands in yours. “Are you okay?”

Sasori shook his head with a guilty look on his face. “I lied to you. Or rather, I allowed you to believe something that wasn't true.”

“I'm not sure what you're talking about. But whatever it is, I'm sure it's not a big deal. You don't have to tell me anything if you don't want to.” You were trying your very hardest to seem uninterested in whatever it was he wasn't telling you. In truth however, you wanted to know terribly.

“No, this is important, and you should know.” It was strange to see Sasori looking so serious and concerned. “I have no problem feeling things, not emotionally any way. At first I didn't correct you because you seemed so hard headed, I doubted you listen anyway. Then you were actually helping me with the physical aspect.” He paused, once again unable to look at you. “But just recently, I realized the reason I continued allowing you to believe a lie, was because I was afraid you'd leave me if you thought I was cured.” He sighed. “I understand completely if you want to leave now. I acted foolishly.”

“I don't want to leave, and I don't think you acted foolishly at all. I think it's really nice that you want me to stay.” You smiled sweetly. “But then again, I am just a foolish female, right?”

Sasori grinned slightly. “I don't believe you to be near as foolish as I once believed you to be.”

“Well in that case, I'll stay with you as long as you want me to. I don't think the leaf is looking for me anyway and I would much rather spend time with you than on stupid missions.” Happy with the way everything had worked out, you brought him into another tight hug and kissed his cheek.

“I knew you had it in you my man.” An unannounced Deidara walked into view and leaned against the cold, stone wall with a smug grin on his face. “You've got her wrapped around your wooden finger, just like I knew you would, hmm.” Deidara chuckled. “I guess I should start knocking before I come in from now in huh?”

Sasori sighed at Deidara's words. “I don't understand half of the things you say Deidara. I don't know how it's possible, but you may very well be even more confusing than females."

I have mastered the White Girl Cry perfectly. I could honestly have done drama in High School. I don't know why I didn't.
