“Well, now this is rather nice, isn't it? It's been a long time since it's been just the two of us like this.” Holding your hand in his, England strolled down the grassy, flower lined path and took in a deep  breath of the chilly night air. It was the first time in months that the two of you had gotten to go out together and you'd forgotten how nice it was. Before a simple walk in the park wouldn't have been anything spectacular to you, but now it seemed like a miniature vacation. “I really hope America doesn't do anything stupid while we're gone. I don't know why I trusted him in the first place.”

“I'm sure it'll be fine. America's actually pretty good with kids, and I'm sure Sealand would call us if anything happened.” Giving England's hand a little squeeze, you snuggled yourself close to him and kissed  his cheek.

“I suppose you're right.” He sighed. “All this worrying about every little thing is going to make me a wrinkled, old man in no time. I never thought I'd be the type to worry like this, but I can't seem to stop myself from doing so. Perhaps a hobby of some sort might help to take my mind off of things, at least for a while.”

You hated to admit it, but even before your little boy had been born, England had been worrying non-stop. Even now, when the two of you could be having fun together, he was too busy fretting to even think about relaxing. You weren't sure how you were going to do it yet, but you had to calm him down, even if it was only for a short time. “You're right. If you don't calm down, you're going to end up with grey hair too. I'm pretty sure neither of us wants you to go grey quite yet. We've got to do something to get your mind off of things for a bit.” You held your chin loosely in your hand and thought to yourself. “But what to do?”

England was immediately concerned by whatever idea you'd managed to come up with. He'd known you long enough to know when something wasn't quite right. “What are you thinking? You've got that look in your eyes, and that look usually means something embarrassing is about to happen.”

Unable to keep yourself from grinning, you turned your face away from him and quickly started pulling him down the narrow, winding path. You already had a plan, but you couldn't tell him what it was, that would ruin everything for sure. “I'm not thinking anything yet, I haven't had time to. You must have this look confused with another look.”

Awkwardly following after you, he continued to press you for more information. “No, I'm rather sure I know that look. I've seen it many, many times before. Don't try to deny it either. I know you too well for that.”

Stopping at a large, deep, Gothic style fountain, you took both of his hands in yours and innocently kissed him. “You're right, I am planning something, but I can't tell you what it is. You'll find out soon enough.” You wrapped your arms tightly around his waist and snuggled your face into his chest. If your idea was going to work, you were going to have to get him off guard first. The way he'd been acting lately, you knew that wasn't going to be an easy thing to do.

“I suppose, if you say so.” He wrapped his arms around you and tried for a moment not to say anything, but his curiosity got the better of him in no time. “I don't mean to pry, but would you mind telling me how soon exactly?”

“Soon.” Trying not to give in to the urge to act before the time was right, you kissed him again, but this time you did so for a very long time. As you held his body close to yours, twirling his messy blond hair between your fingers, you could feel him finally start to relax. After another moment, you knew it was time. You took a single step backwards, edging the two of you towards the fountain, then with your arms still tightly around him, you dropped into the cold water below.

Caught completely off guard, England toppled into the fountain with you and was instantly soaked from head to toe. “Bloody hell love, that was your idea? What would you have done if one of us hit our head on the stones? We could have been knocked unconscious.”

“You're still worrying?” Shaking your head, you let out a sorrowful sounding sigh. “I thought for sure this would help, but I guess I'll have to move on to plan B.”

“P-plan B?” His eyes widened as he struggled to exit the water. Before he could go anywhere, you grabbed on to his jacket and pulled him back down. “I don't think I even want to know what that is. If plan A was pulling me to freezing cold a fountain, I'm actually a bit terrified of what might come next.”  He tried to pull you out as he spoke, but you weren't budging. “Not to mention the fact that playing around in one of these fountains is illegal. The last thing we need is to get in trouble when we have a child at home.”

“Man oh man, you really are just as worried as ever, aren't you?” Surprised that he was still fretting about, you dropped your head down to your chest in disappointment. “I'm going to have to kick this little plan of mine into high gear I see. I didn't want to do this, but you've really given me no choice in the matter. If only you could relax, I wouldn't have to do this.”

“I would prefer you didn't do that.” Trying for a second time now to get out of the water, England grabbed hold of the dark, stone ledge and started to crawl out. “I'm rather sure that this gear is already far too high for me. So if we could just get out of the water and get home before we're seen, that would be ideal.”

Pulling him back down to the water yet again, you let out a cheerful laugh. “Ideal for who exactly? I know I'd much rather stay here with you than go back home right now.” Already having too much fun teasing him to stop, you tackled him into the surprisingly deep water, making sure that every last article of his clothing was thoroughly permeated. Since he knew you weren't going to stop until you were satisfied, England somewhat glumly joined in. At first he was only trying to appease you, but within a couple of minutes, he too was enjoying himself. Actually, if you judged solely on his laughing, you'd have thought he was having more fun than you.

Though both of you were already soaked and cold, the splashing, tackling and horse playing continued until interrupted by America clearing his throat. Bright red and terribly embarrassed to be caught doing something so childish, England looked up at America's smirking face and groaned. “Oh bollocks.”

“Hey there Britain, what's going on over here? Looks like the two of you are having some fun.” Standing just outside of the splash zone, with his hands loosely on your sons stroller, America did his best to keep a straight face.

“Nothing's going on here you nosy little idjit.” Blushing terribly, England finally managed to climb out of the fountain. Once on solid ground, he helped you out then turned his attention back to America. “Why are you out here anyway?”

“Someone's a little bit touchy today I see.” He chuckled. “I just thought I'd take Jr. here for a little night time walk since it's nice out and all. I didn't think you and your lady would be taking a bath in the fountain though. You see, I thought the two of you were a little old to be playing around like that. Obviously I was wrong about though.”

Quickly growing agitated by America, England’s voice rose, but not enough to wake the peaceful, sleeping baby in the stroller. “D-don't talk to me like that. We fell into the water, we weren’t playing around.”

“Uh huh, sure you did man. I bet that fountain just picked you up and tossed you both in there. It probably made you splash each other like a couple of baby seals too. Fountains are totally known to do that from time to time man.” America was obviously not convinced and his sarcasm made that fact even more apparent. “I think I'll just take your kid back home before your bad influence rubs off on him.” Turning around with his nose in the air, America left you and England standing there, dripping wet.

“Who does that idjit think he is? Calling me a bad influence. I ought to sock him for saying that.” Clenching his fists at his side, England mumbled to himself about America. A few seconds later, however, he looked at you with a slight frown on his face. “You don't think that I'm actually a bad influence do you? I'd hate for him to be right.”

“No, I don't think you're a bad influence at all. Especially not to a sleeping baby.” Giggling quietly to yourself, you wrapped your soaked, dripping arms around his shoulders, laced your hinds behind him and kissed him roughly on the lips. “Now, I really, really need you to stop worrying about it. If you don't do that, I'm going to have to pull you back into the water again. And this time, I won't let you out until I'm sure you're calm.”
