The Plan Grell X Reader

         Grell was puffing about, fists clenched tightly shut as he stomped his feet on the hard wood flooring of his home. “We need a plan, and a good one too. This isn't going to be easy, no not at all. I've been trying to do this for years.” He continued pacing the room, a thoughtful, stressed out look all over his face. “Well, aren't you going to help me out?”

“I would really love to Grell, but you still haven't even told me why I'm here.” You gave him a weak smile and waited for an explanation for why you'd been dragged to his home in the middle of the night.

“What? I-I haven't? Oh mercy, I feel like a fool.” He stood directly in front of you and placed his hands on his hips. “I need a plan to capture the heart of my beloved Bassy. My ideas have never worked, so I thought perhaps, two heads would indeed be better than one.”

“I don't really know if I'm okay with that. I don't really want you to steal the heart of Sebastian. Maybe you should just find someone else.” You shrank down into the chair a little, knowing Grell wouldn't be happy with your answer.

“Oh, you'll help me my dear. Or my chainsaw will be covered with the lovely color of your blood.” Grell let out a wicked laugh. “Now think already. The sun will be up soon and I want to meet him at the market. He always goes to the market early in the morning.”

“Um, why don't you just talk to him?” You really weren't sure what to say or do. Honestly, you weren't the best at giving relationship advice. “Or, maybe, you could act uninterested, use some reverse psychology on him.”

Grell stroked his chin and pushed out his lips. “You know, that might just work.” He clapped his hands together and wiggled his hips in excitement. “Well, let's get going shall we? We don't want to miss him.” After grasping your hand tightly in his, Grell made a beeline for the shopping district. With him running as fast as he could, it didn't take long at all to get there. “You are so slow, do you know that? You could have made us miss him.”

“That would have been, such a pity.” You were being as sarcastic as you possibly could. “I'm sure Sebastian would just be devastated if a day went by without seeing you.”

“Keep your mouthiness to yourself, or I'll stitch your mouth shut.” Grell glared at you from behind his glasses, letting you know he was more than serious. He turned back towards the market doors just in time to see Sebastian walking out. “Act casual, I don't want us to seem suspicious.”

You snorted. “You being casual around Sebastian is suspicious.”

“Oh, hush now girly.” Grell once again took your hand in his and strutted towards Sebastian. “Why hello there Bassy, fancy meeting you here.” He gave Sebastian a little wink to go along with his enthusiastic smile. “You do remember my friend here, yes? She was at that lovely party I hosted a while ago.” Grell squeezed you close to him and rubbed his face against yours. “Isn't she just absolutely adorable?”

Doing his very best not to seem annoyed at Grell's mere presence, Sebastian smiled weakly and nodded. “Indeed, I remember her.” His smile became more sincere when he looked at you. “She looks quite lovely this morning.”

“She does, doesn't she?” Grell covered his mouth and giggled. “Well, too bad for you, she's all mine. We've actually been seeing each other since that little party of mine.” He flipped his hair back behind his shoulders in a flamboyant manner. “I just thought I'd give you the courtesy of telling you, I am off the market.” You did your very best not to look shocked at what Grell had just said.

“Is that so? This seems like news to her.” Sebastian looked completely uninterested in what Grell was saying. “I wish you much luck, my lady. Grell can be, a bit difficult to handle at times, but I do hope you two enjoy yourself, for however long this might last.” He cleared his throat and looked back at Grell. “I really must be going now, I wouldn't want Baldroy to take the task of cooking breakfast for himself. Now, if you'll please excuse me, it really was nice seeing you both.” With that, Sebastian continued on his way home.

“That plan of yours completely failed.” Grell stomped his feet on the pavement, holding his hands and arms close to his chest. He was throwing an absolute temper tantrum. “He almost seemed, glad that I wasn't after him anymore. Did you notice that or was it just me?” Grasping your shoulders in his hands, he looked at you with the most pathetic, heart broken look you'd ever seen.

“W-well you know Grell, Sebastian is really hard to read and they always say you don't know what you have till it's gone.” Inside, you were actually kind of glad the plan hadn't worked, it would give you another chance to hang out with Grell. “Maybe we can try again sometime.”

“True, he'll see one day.” Grell drooped over and let out a long, heartfelt sigh. “But for now, we need to get you some new clothes. If you're going to be my partner in crime, you'll need to be dressed appropriately. And what you're wearing now, is anything but appropriate.” His sadness had faded away almost instantly, now quite cheerful and excited about taking you shopping.

“Please don't tell me I have to wear red all the time now.” You shivered. “Red looks horrible on me, I'm not even kidding.”

Grell gave you a wide, toothy smile and placed his pointer finger on your nose. “Oh, don't worry my dear, I'll find a shade of red that suits you perfectly, no matter how long it takes us.”
