“Tired of waiting? I bet you are.” Jiraiya patted your shoulder. “Well guess what? Your wait is over. Come on up here with me and pick an item.”
“Yes sir.” You ran up to the middle of the room before he was even there and started your search. After a moment of digging around in the bucket you pulled up a puppet. “Is this Sasori's?”
“No, it's mine.” Kankuro stood up and made his way over to you. I'm glad you think my puppets are as good as Sasori's though.” He smiled happily.
Jiraiya was already waiting by the closet for you two. “Okay, enough small talk you guys, get in the closet.” He made a waving motion as he opened the door. You and Kankuro walked in and sat on the floor. “I'll be back for you in seven minutes. Have fun now.” He shot you both a perverted grin and shot the door behind him.
“So you want to keep my puppet?” Kankuro was still smiling cheerfully. “I still can't believe you thought it was Sasori's.”
“Well, I kind of thought you'd put grape jelly, or make up in there.” You laughed. “Or whatever it is that's smeared all over your face.”
“It's war paint, not jelly. Jelly would attract bugs.” You had obviously ticked Kankuro off. He was sitting there with his arms and legs crossed mumbling to himself. “Really, I didn't think you were so juvenile. I can't stand juvenile people, they're just.”
You cut him off, finishing his sentence for him. “Juvenile? I was only joking you know. I know you don't have jelly on your face.” You sighed. “I didn't know you couldn't take a joke. My mistake, won't happen again.”
Kankuro immediately blushed, realizing how childish he was acting. “Sorry about that, guess I'm just kind of nervous.” He laughed. “Guess I was the one being, juvenile.” Kankuro scratched the back of his head and looked up at you with a sheepish smile. “So, any chance you still want to play?”
“I don't know, I guess we can play a little bit.” You were only teasing him of course. You had no problem with playing at all.
“I'm staring to think you might get along with Gaara pretty well. It's a little creepy. Well whatever, let's do this while we still have some time.” Kankuro gave you a blushing grin and scooted closer to you, waiting for you to make the first move. He was just trying to make things awkward, and you knew it. That wasn't about to work with you. You quickly knocked him on to the ground and rolled around the floor with him, finally landing him on top of you. “That was a bit unexpected.” He laughed a little before lowering himself to kiss you. You snuggled close to him, wrapping your arms tightly around his waist.
The door abruptly swung open, filling the closet with light and blinding you both. “Whoa there, I wasn't expecting that from you. Way to go Kankuro.” Jiraiya smiled wide and gave Kankuro a thumbs up.
Kankuro quickly moved off of you and helped you up. He was blushing horribly and obviously just wanted to remove himself from the situation. After he was sure Jiraiya was no longer paying either of you any attention, he turned to talk to you. “That was one of the more embarrassing things I've done. So, if we could maybe not tell anyone about it, that would be great.”
“Why not? I can't tell anyone I was in a closet with the Kazekage's brother? That's no fair at all.” You crossed your arms and snorted, once again teasing him.
“No, I'd rather you didn't. Temari would never let me hear the end of it.” He sighed. “So please don't tell anyone. I don't want to risk her finding out.” Kankuro was silent for a second, then shivered. “She was behind me the whole time wasn't she?” You just nodded, she'd been there long enough to hear everything. “Crap.”
