“Thankfully, I was actually able to get someone to volunteer to play this time. It's so much easier that way after all.” Midna gave her hair a little flip and happily sat down. “Well, go ahead, you know who you are.”

Now having the go-ahead, you stood up and silently walked over to the leather sack. There were still a lot more items inside than you expected there to be. “Hmm, let's see here. I think this looks pretty promising.” You chose a guitar pick as your item. Though it was small, the owner immediately saw it and recognized the pick as being his.

“Hey, that's pretty cool. You got my item.” Japas walked up to you in a slow, carefree fashion. “I'm glad my turn finally came. I really needed that pick so I could get back to practice, you know?”

You handed him the item with a concerned look. “You're still going to play the game right? It would be kind of a let down if you just left now that you have your thing.”

“I guess I have a little time. I've waited this long right?” He lazily made his way into the closet, shut the door and sat down in the corner. Because most of his face was covered by what you guessed was the Zora's equivalent to hair, you really couldn't tell if he was even happy to be there. “Come on, take a seat. There's no reason to keep standing.”

“Oh, right.” A little bit flustered to finally be playing, you sat down close to him and crossed your legs. “It's weird, I have no idea what to do now. I wasn't even nervous before.”

Japas leaned against the wall and sighed. “You should practice not being nervous. Practicing makes everything better. Besides, there's nothing for you to be nervous about. It's not like I'm going to bite you or something. Just close your eyes, and relax.”

His calmness actually annoyed you a little. There you were, so nervous that you were actually shaking, and he didn't seem to have a care in the world. “I don't think there's even a way for me to do what you're suggesting. Unless, of course, I purposely put myself in uncomfortable situations just so I can test myself in them.”

“Then do it.” He nodded firmly. “You've got to do what you've got to do or you'll never get any better. Even if what you've got to do is totally uncool at first.”

Though you knew he was right, you doubted you could do what he was suggesting. “You make things sound so easy when they really aren't easy at all.” You shook your head, surprised by how apathetic and nonchalant he was. “By the way, we're not supposed to be taking a nap while we're in here, we're supposed to be doing other things.”

Japas pushed himself away from the wall and looked at you from under his hair. “I know, but you said you were nervous. I thought it would be better if we just played it cool. At least until you were feeling better anyway.”

“Oh, well that was actually really thoughtful of you. Thanks.” Once again feeling lost, you twiddled your thumbs and stared down at the ground.

“Man, you've really got to cool it. You're going to tire yourself out worrying like this.” He wrapped his arm around your shoulders and gave you a little squeeze. “You know something, I bet a nice long jam session would mellow you out. How's your swimming? You could come to see me sometime, I'd teach you how to jam, and how to relax.”

Just the idea of you swimming that far brought an amused smile to your face. “I don't think any human, no matter how well they can swim, can swim well enough to get all the way to Zora Hall. I know for a fact that I would drown. Trust me.” You chuckled. “Thanks for the offer though.”

“We could do it on land then. We'll just have to find the time.” He smiled. “Hey, there we go, you're finally loosening up. Too bad it happened so late in the game.” Knowing Midna would be there any second, Japas stood up, and pulled you onto your feet. As the door opened, he placed a short, but strangely sweet kiss on your cheek. “We'll have to jam together real soon, okay?”

Blushing worse than you realized, you placed your hand on your cheek and nodded. “Y-yeah, definitely. Just let me know when.”

“You've got it.” After retrieving his guitar from the couch, Japas sent you a little wave and walked off to join his band mates.

“He left in a rush, didn't he? You must have scared him or something.” Midna floated into the closet and immediately smirked. “Oh, look at you, blushing like that. Could it be that someone has a little crush on a certain fishy band member?”

Completely ignoring Midna's not so subtle taunts, you pushed past her and hustled out of the closet. “Not now Midna, you can tease me another time. I've got to go practice holding my breath.”
