Hakuouki Seven Minutes In Heaven Isami Kondou

        “That last turn went really well. I might have been the best turn we've had so far. So keep it up men. If nothing happens this time, maybe I can stop staring out of this stupid doorway.” Souji sighed. “Hey commander, you feel like going next?”

Kondou's eyes widened. “I suppose if it's my turn.” Strangely apprehensive, he stood to his feet and looked at the large group of girls. “I guess I'm supposed to pick one of you then.” The look on his face was a strange mixture of worry and confusion. It was strange to see someone that looked so strong and competent look so completely lost.

Other than the fact that he was taking a very long time to chose a partner, you were actually starting to feel bad for him. Hoping no one would get upset with your interruption, you spoke in a very quiet, kind voice. “Would it be alright if I was your partner?”

“Of course, that makes things much easier.” Your suggestion was a more than welcomed one and the smile on his face let you know that. Kondou helped you up, led you into the supply room and helped you sit down. “I'm sure you've already noticed, but I should tell you that I'm not very well educated in this sort of thing.”

“That's alright.” You giggled quietly at his confession. “I wouldn't expect a group of warriors to be all that educated in playing party games. I'm sure you're all far too busy training and protecting the public to goof off like this regularly.”

Kondou stared at you, not sure if you were serious or if you were just trying to tease him. After only a second or two, he decided that you must be telling the truth and that you were far too innocent to do attempt to trick someone like that. “It is true that we are usually quite busy here. Still, it's important for everyone to relax and unwind. Much like what we're doing right now.”

“Makes pretty good sense to me.” You smiled awkwardly, secretly hoping that the idle talking wouldn't last too much longer. Though you weren't brave enough to say it, you weren't really all that interested in talking with him. After all, you could talk any time, anywhere, and with anyone. You were honestly only interested in playing the game as intended.

“Is everything alright? You seem to have something on your mind.” His demeanor had changed so suddenly, you swore he'd somehow managed to read your thoughts. Having no idea how to respond to his question, you stared at him with a blank expression while your mind quickly tried to find appropriate words. Unfortunately, your lack of speech and movement only worried him. “Have you fallen ill?”

“No, no, I'm not ill at all. I was just thinking.” What you were about to say caused you to blush horribly. If you didn't say it now however, you wouldn't get a chance. “What are the chances of me stealing a kiss from you before our time's up?”

Your question left Kondou feeling extremely nervous and flustered. “I-I'm not sure. I don't think I would stop you if you tried, but then again, that wouldn't really be stealing.”

“Well, I don't actually have to steal the kiss.” Since you'd already made things very awkward for the two of you, you really saw no reason to try to stop talking now. “You could just give it to me. That would be alright too.”

“I see.” Avoiding your gaze entirely, he cleared his throat and gave a slow nod. “Well, I wouldn't want you to have a poor time because of me. And I suppose a simple kiss really won't hurt anything.” More out of duty than interest, Kondou leaned forward and placed a very short, sweet kiss on your forehead. It wasn't at all what you expected, but this gesture was so adorable, you didn't even care.

Souji slid opened the door and feigned a look of complete shock. “Whoa there commander, way to show us all how it's done. I had no idea you were such a lady killer.”

Kondou pulled away from you immediately, though barely anything had happened, his face was surprisingly even more red than yours. “But I haven't done anything.”

“Don't try to talk your way out of it. I saw what you did, you know.” Souji smirked. “We'll have to make sure to keep an eye on you when there are ladies near from now on. If you were left alone with them, who knows what might happen.”
