“Okay, so Yuffie really didn't like how I ran the game last turn. She's over there, sleeping like a baby though, so I guess it really doesn't matter.” Placing his hands on his hips, Zack gave the group a wide smile. “So, while the last turn was going on, I went again and picked out the next player. I figured it would speed things along.” He rubbed his nose with the back of his hand to hide his crooked smile and walked over to you. “Just so you know, I picked you out.”

“Alright! I knew it, you kept glancing at me.” You jumped on to your feet and rushed over to the hat. It took you only a second or two to pull a heavy duty glass beaker from the hat. “Um, this reminds me of something we used to use in science class.” Rubbing the back of your head, you set the item down on the table and tried to figure out who it might belong to.

After about a minute of waiting for you to try to figure it out, Hojo stood to his feet and let out an aggravated groan. “Could you maybe go just a little slower my dear? Honestly, you're moving far too quickly for these old bones of mine.” Complaining and mumbling to himself with a sour look on his wrinkled face, he walked straight past you and headed to the closet. “Are you coming or am I going to have seven minutes of peace and quiet?”

“Well, if you say it like that, I'm not really even sure if you want me in there or not.” Since he didn't bother answering you, you shrugged and headed into the closet. Zack closed the door as soon as you were inside, leaving you alone with a very grouchy, arrogant looking scientist.

As you sat down across from him, he raised his hands up slightly and pressed his thin, aged fingers together as if deep in thought. “So you actually decided to join me for this little experiment hmm?” He adjusted his thick black glasses and smiled in a way that made you feel very uncomfortable. “This should prove to be very, interesting.”

“I don't really know that I'd call this an experiment, but it should definitely be interesting. I will give you that much.” While the thought of being locked anywhere with Hojo wasn't exactly a good one, you were willing to give anything a try at least once in your life. “So, I'm sure you've done something similar to this before. You're, you know, a little older than I am, and I can't imagine you not having fun at some time in your life. Since you're the more experienced one here, and I'm absolutely clueless, what should we do?”

Hojo slapped his knee and let out a high pitched cackle. “Are you trying to kiss up to me girl? It's going to take a lot more than a couple of halfhearted compliments to get on my good side.”

“Actually, I was being completely serious.” You didn't want to be offensive to him, since you hadn't the slightest idea how he might react, but you didn't want to sit there in silence with him staring at you like a madman either. Regardless of what you said or did, you had a feeling that you'd end up in trouble when it was all over anyway. “I'm not going to kiss, cuddle or hang on you, for obvious reasons, so I thought there might be something else we could do in here.”

“What “Obvious reasons” Are you talking about exactly?” He lowered his glasses slightly and looked down at you in a way that reminded you of a disappointed parent. “If I can't see these reasons without you explaining them to me, they aren't obvious.”

Just as you'd expected, he was getting upset with you, and over very unimportant things. “The fact that you're, not exactly my age is a reason. You don't seem all that into the game either, that would be a big reason right there.”

“I see.” Hojo tapped his angular, well pronounced chin with the tip of his finger and nodded slowly. “Answer one more question for me, if you will. If our age difference wasn't so great, and I was more excitable you might actually play this, idiotic ,little game with me?”

Not sure how he expected you to respond to such an odd question, you shrugged and gave the most generic answer you could think up, hoping it would keep you out of trouble. “I don't know, probably. Since I'm not in that situation, I'm really not sure what I would do.”

“You are an interesting little test subject, aren't you.” He chuckled again, his thoughts obviously no longer on the game. “Unfortunately, we'll have to just see how interesting you really are at a later date however.” His wicked smirk faded slightly as he looked down at his watch. “According to my watch, our time together is up. At least for now.”

Zack opened the door as Hojo's wristwatch started to make a high pitched beeping, signaling everyone within earshot that your turn was finally over. “I guess you two already know your times up then.” He smiled. “I'm really glad everything went okay. I've got to be honest with you, with Hojo's temper how it is, I was a little worried that something might go horribly wrong. I couldn't stop the turn though, because if I did, that would mean that Yuffie was a better host than I am. Obviously I can't let her think that, so I had to let you take your chances in there.” He laughed nervously. “But you both seem okay, so just forget I said any of that.” Zack turned around to Yuffie standing there in front of him with her arms crossed and a victorious look on her face. “And she was right behind me the whole time. Busted.”
