“Since there are a lot more girls than there are items left, I'm going to do things a bit differently. Nothing in my hat looks breakable, so I'll be throwing the items and whoever catches them will go next.” Yuffie reached into the hat and pulled out a tiny orange bead. “Here we go.” Pulling her hand as far back as she could, she threw the bead and waited for it to chose it's owner.
Many of the girls tried to catch it, some even jumped up or shoved others out of the way in an attempt to be next. You, however, did not move, yet it was you that ended up with the item. The bead hit you right above the eyes and then fell onto your lap. “Well then, that was interesting.” You rubbed where the bead had it as you stood to your feet and walked over to Yuffie. “This hit me in the head, so I'm guessing that means I'm next.”
“Yup, it sure does. You can go ahead into the closet, I'll find Firion. He's got a thing with girls, so this might take a minute it two.” Her last sentence was a little odd, but you chose to just ignore it for now. With nothing else to do, you obeyed Yuffie's directions and walked into the closet to await the arrival of your partner. It was at least five minutes before you finally heard Yuffie's voice again. She appeared in the doorway and quickly shoved Firion inside. “Alright, here he is, you two have fun. I'll be back soon, okay?” After flashing you both a smile, she shut and locked the door.
The slightly annoyed look on his face made you chuckle. “A bit eccentric, isn't she?”
“That would be a kind way of putting it, I suppose.” Struggling to see where he was stepping, Firion carefully sat down on the floor and let out a sigh. “I apologize that I kept you waiting for so long, that was not at all my intention.”
“Don't worry about. I waited hours to get a turn, so waiting another five minutes was nothing.” As your eyes started to adjust to the darkness, you began sneakily scooting closer to him. “There is one thing I kind of wanted to ask you though.”
Completely unaware of what he was getting himself into, Firion nodded and urged you to continue on with your question. “And what might that be?”
“Yuffie said you had a thing with girls. She really didn't clarify what that thing is. I just wanted to be sure it wasn't some odd phobia or something of the same nature.” In the darkness it was difficult to tell what expression he was wearing. Because of this, his silence worried you a bit more than it needed to. “I'm sorry. Should I not of asked?”
“No, it's not that.” He cleared his throat and tried to sound calm. “It's just that I too, am rather baffled by her strange words.” Firion brought his hand up to his chin, closed his eyes loosely and feigned a look of deep thoughtfulness. “I fear that she must have me confused with someone else. It's the only explanation I can muster.”
Though you could tell he was hiding something, you didn't try to force out the truth. There were plenty of other enjoyable ways to find out what Yuffie meant. “Well, as long as you don't have a fear of females, I have nothing to worry about.” Now directly in front of him, you started to grin.
Firion's face started to heat up, yet he was still easily able to keep his composure. “Forgive me, but you seem to have something on your mind. If it's not too much trouble, would you be willing to divulge what it is you're thinking to me?”
“I'm pretty sure you already know what I'm thinking.” You leaned in just a little closer and smirked. “Do I really have to explain myself?”
He cleared his throat and shook his head weakly, his blush was now covering the majority of his upper body. “I just wanted to be sure that I wasn't misunderstanding your advances. Females can be very tricky when they wish to be.”
“I'm not being tricky, I promise.” Trying to keep your confidence up, you moved as close to him as you could get without sitting in his lap and somewhat awkwardly laced your fingers with his. “Now hurry up before Yuffie shows up and kicks us out.”
“It's already too late. I'm here to kick you out.” Just a moment too soon, Yuffie swung open the door and flicked on the light, temporarily blinding you both. “Time's up you two. Break it up and pack it up, because you two are out of here.”
Disappointed that she had come before anything at all had happened, Firion attempted to buy just a little bit more time. “Might we have just a moment more? Seven minutes is such a very short amount of time after all.”
“No you can't have more time. It's not my fault you two are slow. You'll just have to make it up to her or something.” She snorted. “Seriously, what's the matter with you man? I have to drag you in here, and now you don't want to come out?” Yuffie sighed and slumped forward. “Sheesh, and people say I'm confusing.”
