“Let's see, what lucky lady do I want to go next?” Yuffie walked around the room, spinning the hat in her hand. As she walked the length of the room, an item fell to the floor and rolled to your feet. “That's what I get for trying to defy gravity. Go ahead and pick it up, that can be your item.”
You bent down and grasped the item, which had rolled a ways under the couch. It was a small, round locket. You didn't open it, just in case what was held inside was private. “Whose locket is this?” You held the small golden locket above your head and waited for a response.
“Ah, that's mine. Sorry, I couldn't tell what that was rolling around the floor.” Angeal stood up from the couch and smiled. He walked up to you and took the locket, placing it in his pant pocket. “Did you peek inside?”
Now glad you had resisted the urge, you shook your head. “No, of course not.”
“Dodged a bullet there didn't you?” Yuffie elbowed your side. “Anyway, let's get you both in the closet, you can talk about the mysterious locket in there. Follow me now.” She walked over to the closet and opened the door. “Ladies first.” She motioned you in with a swooping motion of the arm. Angeal let you in first, then followed you inside and sat down. “All seems in order, I will be back in seven minute. Later!” Yuffie slammed the door shut and locked it tight.
“You're welcomed to look inside my locket, it's nothing personal.” Angeal grabbed the locket from his pocket and tossed it your way. “I just keep it with me to remind me of what's really important. I try to keep a reminder with me at all times, so my mind doesn't wander off.”
“Are you sure you don't mind?” You were pretty curious, but you didn't want to be nosy. Angeal nodded. With his permission, you excitedly opened the locket, inside was a picture of Angeal, along with Zack, Genesis, and Sephiroth.
Angeal laughed. “You look a little disappointed. Where you expecting something more secretive?” He rubbed on of his large hands on your head, instantly messing up your hair. “Sorry I was a let down. But if I just handed you a secret, it wouldn't be much of a secret now would it?”
“No, I suppose not.” You carefully shut the locket and returned it to him. “Still, you letting me see what's important to you is pretty cool.” You smiled. “So thank you.”
“You're very welcome.” Angeal smiled and leaned against the cold, cluttered wall of the closet. He seemed pleased with himself for some reason. “Do you keep any kind of memento with you? Something like a bracelet, necklace, or picture? It doesn't have to be any of those things. It could be anything that helps keep you on the right track.”
You thought for a moment, then shook your head. “No, I don't think so. I can't think of anything anyway.”
“That won't due now will it?” Angeal rubbed his chin. “We'll have to find something to hold your memories in. Something important to you, something, that symbolizes your dreams and goals.” He was smiling with a strange look in his eyes. He seemed quite fond of this idea.
The closet door opened without him even noticing. “I know that face. He's giving you the “Dream” talk isn't he?” Yuffie sighed. “It worked really well on Zack, so now he tries to get everyone he meets to embrace their dreams.” She pulled you off the floor and placed a hand on your shoulder. “If I were you I'd run, before it's too late. Once he has you in his grip, he'll never let you go. I'm not kidding either, if you don't believe me there are a ton of other people you can ask.” Unsure how to respond to that, you just nodded. You really doubted he could be that bad.
Once Yuffie ran off Angeal reappeared beside you. He placed his large, heavy hand where Yuffie's small one had just been. “Have you ever thought about being a part of Soldier? If that doesn't give you purpose nothing will.”
