You looked down at the list of errands Sebastian had given to you and Finny and nodded. Though the list was long and looked daunting at first glance, most of the tasks wouldn't take more than a couple of minutes. “This shouldn't take too long. We'll just have to focus and not stop until everything on this list is done. If we do that, we should be finished with everything before sundown.”

Not nearly as confident in his abilities, Finny let out a nervous laugh. “I'm not sure we're looking at the same list. I'm going to try my hardest, but I'm still not sure that we'll get done.”

“Don't talk like that. We can do this!” After shoving the long list in your pocket, you grabbed Finny's hand and rushed out of the Phantomhive estate. “The first thing on the list was for us to pick up Master Ciel's clothes from the tailor.” After about a minute of running down the road towards the local shops and vendors, you realized, you had no idea where the tailor's shop was located. “Wait a minute, where is the tailor anyway?”

Finny looked around before answering, just in case the shop happened to be close. With it no where in sight, he pressed his brows together and began to frown. “I don't know.”

“Hey, don't start worrying already. If we can't find it, we can always ask someone else.” Suddenly remembering something, you came to a complete stop. “You know something, I think it might be on Main street. I'm almost sure I saw it there.”

“Oh yeah.” Sure you were right, a bright smile mushroomed over Finny's face. “That sounds like the right place. We should check.” Nodding in agreement, the two of you changed directions, now making your way to Main street. Once you were there, you began walking up and down the street, searching for any sign that you were in the right place. It soon became apparent, however, that you were not in the right place. Growing more and more worried that he was going to get in trouble, Finny's eyes began to water. “I don't think it's on this street.”

Not wanting to see Finny sad, you changed your plan. “You're right. I guess it's time I asked someone.” Giving his hand a gentle squeeze, you stopped looking for the building altogether, and began asking everyone you saw if they knew where the tailor was located. It took you much longer than you had hoped, but eventually, you found someone that was able to help you. “It's on the next street over.” You sighed. “I knew we were close. If we had just looked a little bit harder, we probably would have found it by now.”

“Maybe. But at least now we know where to go.” Once again smiling, Finny pulled you close and walked with you in an adorably, cuddly way. His sudden display of affection caused you to blush, but he didn't notice. Even if he had, you wouldn't have wanted him to stop. You honestly loved when Finny showed you any kind of affection, even if it was something as simple as holding your hand. His nativity when it came to this sort of thing was so sweet, you sometimes had a hard time not squealing with delight. “Your face is really red. Are you okay? It is kind of hot out here, maybe we should stop and get something to drink.”

Blushing even worse now that he'd noticed, you wasted no time agreeing. “It is pretty warm outside today, so a drink sounds like a very good idea to me.”

“I'm glad you think so. I was really thirsty anyway.” Instantly forgetting all about the many tasks you had yet to do, Finny led you into a small, yet homey looking shop and bought you both drinks. After taking a couple of large, refreshing swallows, he released a happy sigh. “That really hit the spot, didn't it?”

Though the problem was never that you were hot, some of your awkwardness had abated at this point, so you nodded. “Definitely. We probably shouldn't spend too much time here though. We haven't even made a dent in our chore list yet.” Before you'd even finished your sentence, Finny had spotted something outside the shop that piqued his interest. You didn't know what he was looking at, but you knew that he wasn't listening to you anymore. “F-Finny, did you hear anything I just said?”

“There's a street performer outside.” Unaware that you'd said anything at all, Finny spoke in lighthearted, excited tone. “Come on, we've got to get a closer look.” Taking your hand in his, he rushed out of the building and down the street where a small group of onlookers had gathered. Once you were both close enough, you realized that it wasn't a single performer, but an entire group of them. You couldn't be sure, but it seemed like they were trying to promote the circus. “Wow. This is so neat!”

Unable to deny that what you saw was indeed impressive, and very entertaining, you agreed. “It really is.” You wanted terribly to remind Finny that there were things to do, but his innocent smile, which spread from ear to ear, made it impossible for you.

“I hope master Ciel let's us go see the real show. I bet it's even better than this.” Though this was only a little preview of what must be in store, it was still rather amazing. Everything from fire breathers to jugglers were present, ensuring that your eyes always had something to focus on. Looking at the performers with childlike amazement, Finny's mouth gaped. “How do they do that? Don't you think those snakes would get spooked and bite him?”

“I don't know. I hope not.” Just as you were about to bring up the important list, still resting, untouched in your pocket, a tall man with bright red hair pulled you and Finny into the performance.

The man quickly handed the two of you two sets of brightly coloured balls. “Don't worry about doing it well, just have fun and try to make at least one person smile. If you can do that, you've done your job perfectly.” Flashing you a smile of his own, he left your side and continued on with the show.

Absolutely ecstatic, Finny wasted no time giving his own act a try. “I can't juggle at all, but here goes.” Not afraid of failing in the slightest, he tossed the balls in the air and attempted to catch them. As he'd expected, he missed every single one of the balls, causing them to drop to the ground and roll across the pavement. Instead of being upset, Finny laughed. “I told you I couldn't juggle.”

“You can't, but that's okay. At least you gave it a shot, and you were adorable doing it.” Figuring it was your turn to give it a try, you too attempted the act. Just as bad, if not worse than he was, neither of you could keep yourselves from laughing. The fact that you were both having so much fun failing, spread to the audience, causing them to laugh and clap at your less than perfect performance.

“I think they like us.” Finny beamed. “Maybe we should join the circus.”

“Maybe.” You giggled. “We seem to have a talent for failing in a good way.” For at least the next half hour, the two of you were a perfectly incorporated part of the show. You weren't sure how they did it, but the other performers did their act in a way that made it look like you and Finny belonged. By the time the show came to an end, your arms were a bit sore from all the juggling. You really weren't any better at it now than you were when you first started, but it had been fun trying nonetheless.

With the show now over, the juggler approached you and Finny. “Thank you for your help today.” Smiling crookedly, the man signaled to the balls you and Finny still held in your hands. “You can keep those, just in case you want to practice. Oh, and if you ever want to join the circus, there's a place for both of you.” Saluting in a playful manner that showed off his one skeletal hand, the man turned on his heel and started after the rest of the group.

“That was nice of him, wasn't it?” As you pushed the balls into your pocket, you felt the list, which you had forgotten all about, crunch under your fingers. “Finny, it's already getting late, and we didn't get a single thing on the list done.” You sighed. “Sebastian is going to punish us both.”

“Probably.” He nodded. “But I think it was worth it.” Taking your hand in his, Finny's cheeks began to flush. “Besides, last time I should have gotten in trouble, I didn't. Sebastian said that when it came to girls, rules were meant to be broken.”

“He did, honestly?” Finding it hard to believe that Sebastian would say something like that, you tilted your head to the side like a confused puppy.

“Yup.” Snuggling himself close to you as you walked, a curious look spread across Finny's face. “So I guess that would mean, that as long as I'm with you, I don't have to worry about getting into trouble anymore.”

Though you were absolutely positive that that wouldn't be the case, you couldn't tell Finny that. Instead, you stopped walking, pulled Finny into a tight hug and gently kissed the corner of his mouth. “I think Sebastian's really going to regret saying that, and I think he's going to regret it very soon.”
