“Oh my dear mercy, there are a lot of you aren't there?” Grell placed the back of his hand on his forehead and swooned directly into your lap. “I fear I've grown ever so terribly feint my dear girl. You'll have to see yourself up.”
“Oh, you poor dear, do you need something to drink? I'd hate to think you're suffering on my account.” With a worried look, you ran your fingers through Grell's deep red hair.
“No, no, just leave me.” Grell cupped his hand next to his mouth and whispered to you. “I'm fine, but with any luck, my dear Bassy will come to rescue me.” He winked and waved you away. “Now go, have a good time my kind darling.”
“O-okay then, if you insist.” After gently removing Grell from your lap, you stood to your feet and straightened out the wrinkles in your dress. With Grell still moaning and complaining behind you, you walked to the center of the large room and placed your hand inside his purse. It was surprising how many different items were inside. It almost seemed the number of items was greater than the number of players. As you felt around, a cold metallic ring slipped onto your pinky. Once your hand was free of the purse, you saw that it was a rather large, silver earring. “Who wears earrings here?”
“Come on, seriously? I couldn't have made it any more obvious.” Cheslock stood to his feet with as scowl on his face. “Just give that here already.” He walked over you and snatched the earring from his fingertips. “Let's get this over with.”
Apparently you'd done something to make him angry, you had no idea what that something was, but you were going to do your best to remedy it. “Right, I'm going.” You rushed into the closet and quickly sat down on the cold floor.
Cheslock walked in behind you and shut the door with a loud thud. “So whose stupid idea was this?” Still acting more than a little rude, he sat on the floor with his back to the wall and straightened one leg while he hugged the other to his chest. Even the way he sat was vulgar, causing you to look away from him. “Hey, what's your problem?”
Closing your eyes altogether, you placed your hands on your lap and answered him quietly. “I don't have a problem, you just seem upset and I don't want to do anything to upset you further.”
“Huh?” Somehow your simple sentence had confused him. “I'm not angry. I don't even know what you're talking about.”
“Oh?” You opened your eyes and glared at him through the darkness. “If you're not angry, why are you being so short with me? If my memory serves me, we've never met before today, so you have no reason to dislike me. Or do you simply treat everyone you meet like they are your lowers?” When you thought he was upset, it was much easier to overlook his attitude and be kind. For all you knew something terrible could have happened just before the game. But now knowing there was nothing bothering him, you found it much more difficult to control your tongue.
Taken by surprise by your sudden change in attitude, Cheslock stuttered for a second before speaking. “Well, I.” He cursed, loudly. “You led me on, you know that? Your whole nice girl thing was a total act!”
“On the contrary, I am very nice, except to people who are unnecessarily nasty.” You sneered at him. “People like that deserve no kindness from me. A good beating would do them better.”
Already composed, Cheslock leaned in close to you and smiled wickedly. “So you want to beat me then? I've got to say, that's not very lady like at all.”
Unfazed by his words, you too moved closer to him, returning his wicked smile. “Oh no, I'm rather certain a sick person like you would find much too much enjoyment in that. But I'm sure Pluto wouldn't mind using you as a chew toy for a while.”
Before Cheslock could answer the door creaked open. “Well now, this is a rather strange staring contest you two are having. You both look absolutely murderous.” Grell whimpered and pouted. “I want to play, how unfair!”
Cheslock stood to his feet, ignoring Grell completely and held his hand out to you. “This game wasn't as bad as I expected it to be.”
Taking his hand, you gave a sarcastic laugh. “That's because you didn't play it. Though it's no surprise. Going to an all male school has more than likely left you clueless when it comes to the opposite gender.” With a smug grin you walked out of the closet and sat down to talk with Soma.
“Well now, you seem rather awestruck by her.” Giggling, Grell snuggled up close to Cheslock. “I'll admit, the two of you would make a very odd match.” Cheslock was completely ignoring Grell. He was far too busy staring at you. “Though it's unfortunate, she's completely out of your league.”
Grell's last remark had more than gotten Cheslock's attention. “You'd had better shut your mouth you bastard. I'll show you who's out of my league!” Steaming mad and now determined to prove Grell wrong, Cheslock stomped away.
Covering his mouth with his fingertips Grell giggled to himself. “Yet another plan, perfectly executed.”
